Young garbage truck fan loses it when he meets his heroes face-to-face

Two-year-old Quincy Kroner of Cincinnati achieved something few of us ever will: he got to meet his heroes. However, the experience turned out to be more overwhelming than he had anticipated and his reaction ended up making him the darling of the internet.

Quincy had developed a fascination for watching the garbage truck come through his neighborhood once a week to empty the garbage bins. He would wait by the window and watch the proceedings with awe. It didn't take long before public services workers Eddie Washington and Mark Davis noticed that they were being watched.

Quincy's parents thought that his imagination had gotten the better of him when he told them that the men always waved to him. But one day they saw it themselves — Quincy stood at the window and the garbage collectors waved to him like an old friend.

Some months after Quincy's obsession with the garbage collection began, he mastered potty-training. His parents gave him a special reward: a toy garbage truck. The toddler was deliriously happy and could not wait to show his heroes his new favorite toy.

Quincy's dad Ollie captured the moment with a photo and posted it on Facebook with the caption, "Quincy's been waiting all week to show the garbage men his garbage truck. But, in the moment, he was overwhelmed in the presence of his heroes."

Ollie's Facebook friends were so enamored of the image, they shared it far and wide until the views accumulated to the tens of thousands. Sometimes just going about your day with a smile and a friendly manner makes you a role model for someone else. Hopefully next time Quincy has the chance to hang out with Eddie and Mark, he can manage a smile for the camera. Still, this is one handsome trio. ;-)
