Boy dying of cancer gets final wish to blow things up!

Declan is a 12-year-old boy from Australia battling with leukaemia. He has spent so much time in hospital since being diagnosed in 2015 and really just needed to do something completely radical and way out of his comfort zone.

With the help and support of Make-A-Wish Australia, an organization that grants the wishes of children fighting life-threatening illnesses, Declan came up with an extraordinary request – he wanted to blow stuff up!

Make-A-Wish Australia banned together with the Australian Federal Police to make Declan’s wish come true. And judging by this video, the weekend really went off with a bang:

As a real adventure-seeker, Declan got the biggest thrill from sending a wall sky high in a million pieces (at a safe distance, of course!). And as someone who also loves politics, Declan’s once-in-a-lifetime experience was made all the more unforgettable when he got to meet the Prime Minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull. What a fantastic weekend for him!

Declan is now in remission and we hope that these incredible memories not only help distract him from his treatment but help him look forward to a brighter future.
