This woman's radical change has inspired thousands of others

Being comfortable with ourselves — with our bodies as well as our feelings and aspirations — is a really important step toward enjoying life.

U.S. Army veteran Belita Edwards had been frustrated with her hair for a long time. It might sound like a small thing, but when you don’t feel good about part of yourself it can drag down your whole self-esteem, as she touchingly describes.

Along came a fantastic organization called Makeovers that Matter that offers female vets a new look that both suits them beautifully and can be maintained afterward. It partnered with the hairstylists from Paul Mitchell to give Belita a whole new look. They only worked on her hair, but they had a much bigger impact. Watch the video to see her transformation and beautiful reaction:

All she wants is to be a good example for her kids and get to work serving others. What a lovely, generous person, who sure deserves the help she received here. Now she looks as good on the outside as she is on the inside. And she can use her newfound confidence to, as she says, “take the world by storm!”
