Young mother reveals what motherhood really means

Being a mom is by far the hardest yet most rewarding job in the world. While motherhood is filled with an abundance of pleasures and feelings of joy, it also has its drawbacks — huge responsibility, hard work, sleepless nights, to name but a few. The American photographer Anna Ogier-Bloomer has taken it upon herself to capture the full experience of being a mom, using the birth of her daughter as an opportunity to work on a very special project. It's a very honest and open portrayal of maternity, fully revealing all its sides.

She emphasizes that her daughter is her everything, but also wants to show all facets of motherhood, both good and bad. Take falling asleep from exhaustion in the kitchen ... breastfeeding wounds, for example.

Or even the art of multitasking — feeding while going to the toilet. Some things just can't wait!

And when hunger strikes, it doesn't matter where you are or what you're doing...

It means hard work for all involved.

Because even the smallest beings need a great deal of attention.

Short breaks are always welcome in any form and the smallest of pleasures are given a whole new meaning.

Luckily, grandma's around when you need her.

Looking at the mother-child duo, it's clear they make a great team.

Mom and dad are always going to be there for their child. Their bond couldn't be stronger.

Anna simply wouldn't have it any other way. Her daughter is worth every sleepless night, every wound, every kind of exhaustion. Because at the end of the day, there is nothing better than the love between a mother and her child.

This very honest and open project shows that it's ok to sometimes feel a bit run-down and overwhelmed. At the end of the day, the good experiences far outweigh the bad!
